Place food in small, preferably chilled, pieces and quantities into the hopper to ensure even processing. Do not put frozen food or solid components (stems, tendons, bones, pits) into the universal mincer.

How do I disassemble my universal mincer?
Remove the universal mincer from the drive unit and remove the pusher and hopper. Loosen the locking ring counter-clockwise. You can now remove the perforated disc, knife, and auger from the housing.
How do I clean my universal mincer correctly?
All parts of our stainless steel universal mincers (476 500 and 480 500) for KitchenAid and SMEG are dishwasher safe. However, we recommend washing the knife by hand to maintain its sharpness.
For our plastic universal mincer for the mySystem, the locking ring and housing can also be cleaned in the dishwasher. You should wash the perforated disc, knife, spring, auger, and pusher by hand.
Clean model 862 260 for the mySystem with lukewarm water and dish soap. Afterwards, let all parts dry thoroughly and, if necessary, rub the knife and perforated disc with a little cooking oil.
How do I assemble my universal mincer?
Insert the auger into the housing and the spring onto the auger. Insert the knife, making sure the cutting edges face forward. Place the perforated disc so that the semicircular recess of the perforated disc fits into the housing. Now place the locking ring and tighten it clockwise.
Can I also slice bacon with my universal mincer?
Together with the 4-sided perforated disc, the 2-bladed steel knife creates the perfect bacon slicing set. This can be purchased optionally as an accessory.
What accessories are available for my universal mincer?
In addition to the bacon slicing set, consisting of a 4-sided perforated disc and a 2-bladed knife, there is a practical grating attachment with splash guard, which is ideal for finely grating nuts, hard cheese, chocolate & Co.
