What is the difference between the steel conical mill and a stone mill?
With a steel conical mill, you can process not only dry grains but also small amounts of oil-containing seeds. For example, spice blends can be made. It is not possible to process oil seeds with a stone mill. However, various types of grain can be ground into particularly fine and flaky flour. Which mill is best for you depends on what you want to process with it.

What foods can I grind with the steel conical mill?
Grains: wheat, spelt, green spelt, rye, barley, buckwheat, millet, rice, oats. All dried spices, herbs, and mushrooms. Oil seeds: flaxseed, sesame, soy.
What should I consider when grinding oil seeds?
Never grind oil seeds at the finest setting, as this could cause the mill to clog. After grinding oil-containing seeds, we recommend grinding dry grain afterward.
How do I adjust the grind size?
The grind size is always adjusted during the grinding process, starting with setting 7. You start with the coarse setting and return the grind size to "coarse" after use.
- Finer: turn counterclockwise and ONLY during grinding
- Coarser: turn clockwise, can also be done while stopped
How can I clean the grain mill?
Remove the grain mill attachment from the drive unit and take off the hopper. Turn the locking ring counterclockwise. Now you can remove the adjustment unit, the steel conical mill, and the feed screw. Clean the mill and adjustment unit with a brush and a small brush. The plastic parts, except for the adjustment unit, can be washed by hand or in the dishwasher. After complete drying, reassemble the grain mill in reverse order.

What foods can I grind with the stone mill?
Dry, hull-free grains such as buckwheat, spelt, emmer (two-grain), barley, green spelt, oats, millet, rice, rye, wheat, etc.
Attention: Oil-containing seeds CANNOT be ground with the stone mill! Grinding corn, spice seeds, poppy seeds, and flaxseed will damage the mill.
What should I consider when grinding?
Run the grain mill attachment without any grain only briefly. Longer idle running leads to increased wear. Do not use moist grain, as this clogs the mill.
How do I adjust the grind size?
You can set the desired grind size with the scale knob on an empty attachment. Adjusting to a fine grind should be done only in small steps and with multiple short starts of the drive.
- Finer: clockwise and only with multiple short starts
- Coarser: counterclockwise, also possible while stopped
How can I clean the grain mill?
Remove the grain mill attachment from the drive unit and take off the hopper. Hold the grinding cone firmly and turn the scale knob counterclockwise until the scale knob and grinding cone can be pulled off the hex shaft. Clean the plastic parts only with lukewarm water and dish soap (not dishwasher safe!). You can clean the mill inside and out with a dry, stiff brush or a small brush.
How often should I clean the attachment?
The mill does not need to be cleaned after every use. With proper use, it cleans itself during grinding. After some time or if the mill has not been used for a while, a thorough cleaning is advisable.
